The Precision Dance Company offers performance and training scholarships annually (at the discretion of the Board of Directors) to dancers desiring the opportunity to train in dance professionally, gain exposure to the performing arts industry, increase their performance experience and develop stronger dance technique and ability. The scholarship is offered to applicants of all ages and dance skill levels but is awarded to those applicants that not only desire the opportunity to train and perform with the Company but also have a strong financial need. Scholarships are limited and are awarded to those applicants that meet all of the qualifications and can commit to the expectations of the scholarship program.
Eligibility
To be considered for a scholarship applicants must meet the following qualifications:
Demonstrate sincere interest in dance Demonstrate a strong financial need Be in good academic standing Submit a complete scholarship application
Expectations of Scholarship Recipients
To maintain a positive attitude To be an excellent representative of the Company To put forth 100% effort into choreography, training, rehearsals and performances To assist with the fundraising goals of the Company, through meeting fundraising goals already in place and/or organizing a fundraiser for the Company To work volunteer hours in the Precision Dance Company office (schedule to be determined by recipient)
Description of Awards
There are three types of performance and training scholarships offered. Please note that scholarships cannot pay for costs associated with Company gear and/or costumes. Descriptions of the scholarships are as follows:
Full scholarship- pays for all Company fees (includes monthly fees, competition fees and intensive fees).
Partial scholarship- pays 50% of all Company fees (includes monthly fees, competition fees and intensive fees).
Training only scholarship- pays 50% of costs associated with private lessons and intensive workshops
